Congratualations Class of 2017 !
The first week of your high school year is one of the most important weeks of your 12-year education. Walking through those doors of your school on the first day and knowing that it is your last year and you are almost done and you are almost an official adult. Walking through that door and knowing that you are the seniors of that school that there is no higher grade to tell you that you couldn’t walk through a certain stair well or that you no longer have any higher grades that will skip you in the lunch line. It is your year to set the example and be the eldest and to make sure that everyone knows your place in the school you even have the privilege to wear a crown and let everyone know, this is called the senior crown. The senior crown is a crown that every senior makes the last week of the previous summer, usually they all decide on a day to meet up and make them together. This crown has no rules; it is a crown that you create to your own desire. It seems to be that the only subconscious rule there really is, is to put your graduating year and really that is not even necessary. This headpiece is meant to describe who you are and there are infinite ways that you can decorate it. A few examples for the female crowns is the flower or lace crowns. Examples for the male crowns is the solid colored crowns with rhinestones. A few tips on making your crown. 1st: Actually making the crown shape is not difficult at all and you actually don’t even have to do this on your own and that is because Burger King actually gives you them for free and that is what most seniors do but of course you can make it on your own. 2nd: Go all out. There is never such a thing as a crown that is too over the top, you want your crown to stand out and for people to notice and its only for one week of your life just make sure that you can wear it on your head without it being too heavy. And 3rd: Make sure it is original and that you include something that specifically describes you and your interests.
Last year the ISPA app was released to give students an advantage in their school work. Since then, it’s been helpful to me and a multitude of other students. It’s got a simple user-friendly interface, all the information on the school you’d ever need, and it fulfills a function that your phone’s own calendar app can’t complete as well as the ISPA app can.
Home Page – Emblazoned over the app’s home page is the school’s emblem, and you can swipe left to find details on how to join the ISPA PTSA, dates for open house and a back to school celebration, ten tips on how to protect your online reputation, and ten of the values Dadeschools emphasizes most. Swipe down for a search bar for easier access to any of the app’s resources.
Student Life – The “Student Life” section is your go-to database for school policies. You can find our school’s attendance policy, bell schedule, block schedule, dress code policy, graduation requirements, student handbook, and important information on community service.
Events Calendar – The “Events Calendar” is your fastest resource for checking upcoming happenings. You’ll be aware of all important events and teacher planning days if you check this frequently.
Push Notifications – Enable your ISPA app’s push notifications to always stay updated. It will remind you of teacher planning days, no uniform days, and any last dates to turn in important papers.
More – Anything you need that isn’t in any of the above tabs will be easily accessible here. Direct links to college/high school, student, teacher, parent resources, and other important links will be here.
All students are encouraged to download and use this app, it’s a life-saver with its reminders and database on school policies.
In the wise words of Tony4811 from the app store: “10/10 would buy again m8.”
